Savante Insurance
A former St. Boniface beer vendor turned upholstery shop turned automotive garage is transformed into a contemporary, collaborative office and sublet space. Setting itself apart from the traditional strip mall setting, the stripped-out interior embraces the industrial construction of exposed steel roof trusses and imperfect concrete floor, with the addition of an ultra-thin floating steel mezzanine. Openness and transparency are maximized yet modulated, by glass and perforated steel partitions, and by passive and electronic acoustic attenuation. Large window openings are added to create a street presence and provide daylight.
