=Our conceptual approach to the project focuses on opening up the inner workings of the CKUW studios to the public, inviting visitors and passers-by to become everyday spectators, to pique curiosity and inspire participation. Through modulated degrees of transparency within and outwards, visually revealing performance space, on-air studio space, and even library space to the public eye would demystify and showcase day-to-day operations.

Responding to Centennial Hall’s original bombastic architecture of exposed structure and systems rendering in bold colour and super-graphics, we’re intrigued by the idea of a ‘building within a building’ whose exterior presents an inhabitable structure; a signature form occupying the double-height volume creating an attractor and lounge space visible from Lockhart Hall, as compliment and connection to the Hive annex spaces.
